more about Mo
Hello, I’m Mo! she/they
I practice therapeutic muscular therapy/massage and yoga in private practice in Lexington, MA and Wilmington, VT. In addition to being a bodyworker + yoga teacher, I have a BFA in sculpture from MassArt and work primarily in mixed media collage, printmaking, small sculpture and alternative photo processes. I’m a twin, an outdoorsperson, animal lover and an amateur farmer and forager. I was a Pro/Elite cyclist competing Internationally in cyclocross for 12 years, a former competitive runner, cycling-skills coach and barista.
I specialize in pre + postnatal massage, peri + menopause, deep tissue, myofascial release, orthopedic + injury work (including post-op recovery), athletes/sports, and Thai yoga massage. I am especially passionate about working with people collaboratively through periods of change and transitions and I welcome every person to experience bodywork and wellness practices for physical, emotional, spiritual health, education, and empowerment for themselves and the greater community.
I’ve been a massage therapist for almost 28 years. I graduated from the Muscular Therapy Institute in Boston, in 1998. While working full time, I chased my dream of putting myself through art school and graduated from MassArt in 2002. I began practicing yoga in 2001 and found myself feeling deeply at home in both the community and the study of the 8 Limbs of Yoga. I completed my Yin Yoga teacher training in 2012, my 200-hour yoga teacher training through Boston Yoga School in 2014 and Prenatal Yoga training in 2015.
Art Workshops
My artwork is primarily mixed media 2D and small sculpture using elements of foraged, found, upcycled and nature inspired materials and imagery. I often work from very loose ideas combining materials, modalities and textures to eventually dictate the outcome of the finished piece.
I am fueled by the curiosity and exploration of how various process oriented approaches can be integrated to create works that evoke the notion of biotic storytelling, passage of time and ongoing change.
The use of existing upcycled, foraged and found materials is a conscious attempt at reducing the impact of creating more goods in the world. I feel mother nature is the ultimate artist and aspire to create works that reflect a mutualistic symbiotic relationship between artist and nature.
